Michael M. Wechsler is a research scholar at Columbia Business School specializing in digital finance. He is a regular contributor to academic papers and events related to fintech innovation, regulatory sandboxes, crypto-assets, blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, mobile coverage and payments, digital financial services, AML/CFT and KYC, financial de-risking and cybersecurity. He is also the webmaster of the DFS Observatory website.
Michael is also a technology attorney and founder of TheLaw.com, an early entry to legal websites and communities online. He served as legal counsel and director of business affairs at iVillage.com and later joined Kroll Ontrack as a consultant for electronic/paper discovery and computer forensics. Subsequently, Michael joined IDT’s Internet Mobile Group as SVP of Strategy and was responsible for acquiring and developing Zedge, a popular mobile content community and app.
Presently, Michael is of counsel to Kaplan, Williams & Graffeo, LLC and can also be found at Google’s Webmaster Central where he enjoys serving as a Google Product Expert, helping the online community of website owners and developers with issues related to search engine optimization, website security, malware/hacking, structured data and Google Search products.
